🎙️NEW LIMITED SERIES PODCAST MONEY TRAUMA UNPACKS THE PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT OF FINANCIAL STRAIN

From creators Miho Soon (publications in Tate Modern London, The Guardian), Phoebe McIndoe (County Lines, BBC Radio 4), and Marta Medvesek (BBC Radio 4, Radio 3, World Service), the new limited series documentary podcast Money Trauma debuts on March 6th, 2026.

In six total episodes across two seasons, Money Trauma “uncovers commonly referred to economic experiences like financial stress, gambling, wealth accumulation and impulsive spending from a trauma-informed and social perspective.” Miho Soon speaks with experts across the globe to find out stories about money contradict so many lived experiences – and who those stories ultimately benefit.

When 90% of financial behaviors are made emotionally, discussing finances with a logic-based approach stops being sufficient. Money Trauma aims to unveil the stories we’re not telling due to social taboo. And the title, Money Trauma, is not hyperbolic: 3 out of 4 millennials and gen-zs exhibit PTSD-like symptoms caused by financially-induced stress.

The feed for Money Trauma is live, and episodes release weekly starting on March 6th, 2026. Early episode audio may be provided upon request, and host Miho Soon may be available for interview upon request. Money Trauma and Miho Soon can also be found on Instagram.

Early reviews of Money Trauma

“Money Trauma is a bold approach to reassessing a question that many simply ignore with refreshing personal storytelling, informative voices, and strong sound.”
– James Jackson, Independent Journalist, Al Jazeera, The Telegraph

Money Trauma isn’t about budgeting tips or latte shaming. It’s about the psychological wiring that drives how we earn, spend, hoard, and worship money.”

Aya Jaff, Author of Broligarchy

“Money Trauma is a really interesting podcast. It expands discourse about money beyond what people from disciplines like economics and sociology will talk about. I think it’s really important to see the subjective and personal narratives people associate to money and wealth to create space for a radical change in how we approach money, work, and therefore - life.”

– Simone Robbuti, organizer in Tech Workers Coalition Global, writer at Reincantamento
