Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, today announces an exclusive partnership with actor, activist, and podcast powerhouse Jameela Jamil for her brand new series - Wrong Turns - a comedy podcast built not to inspire, but to indulge in our most mortifying moments and bad decisions.
In this unique take on the personal storytelling format, Jameela invites comedians, actors, writers, and well-known personalities to share their most hilariously cringe-worthy, disastrous, and utterly non-redemptive stories. These confessions are raw, often ‘Not Safe For Work’, and free of silver linings.
Acast will exclusively distribute and monetize the podcast globally, activating advertising across audio and Jamil’s wider digital ecosystem - including social, video, and live shows. With a large and loyal fanbase across the US, UK, Australia, and beyond, Jameela’s international appeal aligns perfectly with Acast’s global footprint, enabling brands to run smart, multi-market campaigns that reach a culturally engaged, comedy-loving audience.
“Jameela is fearless, sharp, and unapologetically herself, and this podcast is exactly that,” said Tiffany Ashitey, Managing Director, Americas at Acast. “She’s flipping the concept of ‘inspiration’ on its head, offering a space for hilarious honesty and shared humiliation. With our unmatched advertising infrastructure and capabilities, we’re ready to take this brilliantly refreshing show worldwide - and bring brands along for the ride.”
Each episode features Jamil alongside two guests who recount their most humiliating tales of regret, awkwardness, and straight-up disaster. Notable early guests include Jake Johnson, Kathrine Ryan, Atsuko Okatsuka, Simon Pegg, Adam Pally, Alan Carr, Sal Vulcano, Mae Martin, Bob The Drag Queen, and more.
“Frankly, I’m tired of being inspired,” said Jameela Jamil, host and creator of Wrong Turns. “Enough podcasts are trying to make us better people. I wanted to make something that celebrates being a glorious mess, because that’s where the real fun (and honesty) lives. Acast instantly got the vision, and they have the global expertise to take this show to every disaster-prone soul who needs to hear that they’re not alone.”
Jameela’s previous podcast iWeigh quickly became a global success, known for its candid interviews and advocacy-forward approach. Her new project leans fully into comedy and chaos - a perfect fit for a host who’s already a self-declared disaster icon, from breaking her butt in a stunt gone wrong to knocking down Al Pacino while stealing steaks.
With Acast’s powerful monetization and cross-platform distribution, the partnership is poised to take Jameela’s latest podcast to audiences - and advertisers - around the world.
