Dan Blumberg is ditching the past tense. The independent technologist and former NPR journalist announced today that his three-time Webby Award-honored podcast CRAFTED. is rebranding as Future Around & Find Out, marking a strategic pivot toward helping builders navigate AI and emerging technologies.

The rebrand represents a shift away from retrospective case studies toward real-time analysis of what technologists are building next. The new show, abbreviated as FAFO, launches its first season Feb. 3 with Emmy-nominated storyteller Baratunde Thurston as the debut guest.

“Hey, you know what would be awesome? If we could build the future we want, before we f*ck it up,” Blumberg said. “We can do it… we are building amazing things right now… but there’s also this dread a lot of us feel. I mean the headlines say AI is either going to put us all out of work – or straight up kill us – or lead to heaven on Earth. So, what do you think? Well, I think we have the power to build the future we actually want.”

The announcement comes as tech podcasts increasingly split between extreme pessimism about AI’s dangers and venture capital-backed hype. Blumberg positions Future Around & Find Out as occupying middle ground, applying journalistic rigor and his product management experience at LinkedIn, The New York Times, banks and startups to help founders and tech leaders think clearly about emerging technologies.

iHeartPodcasts today announced it is partnering with actor, filmmaker and podcaster Rider Strong (Boy Meets World, Cabin Fever) to launch his new audio series, “The Red Weather.” This innovative 8-episode autofiction podcast, inspired by Strong’s initial work on a documentary about communes in and around his hometown of Sebastopol, California, masterfully blends a fictional true-crime mystery with a profoundly personal real-life narrative. The series will premiere with its first two episodes on January 28, with episodes launching twice weekly thereafter.

“‘The Red Weather’ started with me grabbing a microphone and asking old friends about kids we knew who grew up in so-called ‘cults,’” said Rider Strong. “As the memories piled up, I wanted to find the best way to draw listeners into that unique time and place. I’m excited to team up with iHeart to bring this deeply personal project to audiences everywhere.”

The fictional investigative podcast will interrogate true-crime conventions, unreliable narration and the ethics of storytelling — all driven by a 1995 cold case. Strong, playing himself, will delve into the disappearance of his best friend’s sister, Anna Trainor, from a commune in 1995. The central crime is fictitious, yet the recorded interviews with real family and friends, along with the exploration of Rider’s own past, make for a deeply authentic audio experience and personal journey. Featuring documentary-style recordings with actors on location, “The Red Weather” will create a unique blend of reality and scripted drama, exploring themes of ‘90s nostalgia, the pitfalls of alternative parenting and misogyny.

The Rest Is Science is a new video-first show from Goalhanger, hosted by Professor Hannah Fry and Michael Stevens. Twice a week—every Tuesday and Thursday—they explore big ideas and surprising questions. Each Tuesday brings a deep dive into a single topic, uncovering the science and stories behind it, while Thursday features a “Field Notes” episode, where a curious object sparks a journey through the fascinating ideas it represents.

Clips across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts keep the conversation going between episodes. Whether you’re naturally curious or a lifelong science fan, this is a show that’ll change how you see the world.

Speaking on the announcement co-host Hannah Fry, said: “We wanted to make a show that takes familiar ideas and turns them inside out - breaking them down and looking so closely that they start to feel almost unrecognisable. Science is full of things we think we understand - time, randomness, beauty, evolution - until you actually start to question them. Then you realise how strange, fragile, and completely astonishing reality really is.”

Co-host Michael Stevens, added: “With The Rest Is Science, we wanted to go beyond pop science and maths - to dig into the kinds of details that usually get skipped over. I’ve always been fascinated by that space between what we know and what we think we know. That’s where curiosity really lives, and that’s the space this show explores.”

In Episode One, the pair explore whether water is actually “wet,” how minerals shape its taste - from New York bagels to Yorkshire tea - before diving into the planet’s vanishingly small supply of drinkable freshwater, the dangers of over-hydration, and water’s cosmic origins.

In further upcoming episodes, audiences can look forward to a feast of the fascinating and the unexpected - from exploring whether randomness really exists to venturing into the mind-bending world of scale and infinity. Hannah and Michael will also ask whether humans are still evolving in an age of texting and supermarkets and investigate why we cry - with camels offering some unlikely clues. They’ll even ponder whether skyscrapers could be built from mushrooms, discover how a remote Scottish island powers itself entirely off-grid, and reveal how moths navigate using the stars.

Hannah Fry is a British mathematician, broadcaster and Professor for the Public Understanding of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge. She studies patterns in human behaviour and brings this knowledge and expertise mixed with her signature sass, wit and warmth to help bring complex ideas to life across all her work. Hannah’s broadcasting work includes The Future with Hannah Fry (Bloomberg), The Secret Genius of Modern Life (BBC Two), as well as Curious Cases (BBC Radio 4). Her new series, The Infinite Explorer (National Geographic/Bloomberg) launched in 2025 and she is currently developing a BBC documentary on artificial intelligence for 2026. Hannah is a regular host on Have I Got News For You and has been a guest on Taskmaster’s New Year’s Treat 2025 and Would I Lie to You? She has written for The New Yorker and authored Hello World: How to Be Human in the Age of the Machine.

Michael Stevens is an American educator, inventor, and the creator and host of Vsauce - one of YouTube’s most popular science and education channels, with over 24 million subscribers and 6 billion views. Through Vsauce, Stevens has built a global community of curious minds, making science, mathematics, and the human experience accessible, surprising, and endlessly fascinating. He explores thought-provoking questions such as “Why Are Things Creepy?” and “What If You Were Born in Space?”. Michael toured the US, Canada, and Australia with Brain Candy Live, a stage show he co-created with MythBusters’ Adam Savage, and is one of the founders of The Curiosity Box, a quarterly subscription of science and math toys of his own invention.

As part of the launch partnership, The Rest Is Science will feature monthly exclusive insights from Cancer Research UK, with Hannah and Michael exploring them through challenging assumptions, human stories, innovation, long-term progress, and surprising discoveries - all underpinned by powerful data.

Produced by Pushkin Industries and iHeartPodcasts, the weekly series will drop new episodes on Wednesdays starting today. Business History will be the first podcast from Pushkin Industries that will incorporate full video episodes from launch. Television presenter and passionate women’s health advocate Cherry Healey, and beloved working GP and TV personality Dr Amir Khan are teaming up to launch a new health podcast, No Appointment Necessary, produced by Viral Tribe.

With over 80% of women saying they don’t feel heard at the doctors and with appointments harder to get than ever, Dr Amir and Cherry will open their doors each week for listeners to join their catch up for the ‘weekly check-in’. Together they will discuss health and wellbeing topics that are impacting everyone from weight-loss jabs, dementia risk reduction, alcohol and menopause, even sex and libido - nothing is off-limits or too taboo.

As a passionate patient advocate, Cherry will also candidly chat with GP Dr Amir for the ‘chat GP’, asking those burning questions submitted by listeners from, “Should I be worried about this lump?” to “How can I avoid ingrown hairs... ‘down there’?!” - providing a weekly dose of no-nonsense, trusted health advice as the pair take health seriously without taking themselves too seriously.

Busting the myths, avoiding late-night internet searches and cutting through the confusion when it comes to wellbeing, this new podcast empowers listeners to take charge and understand their health from head to toe in weekly catch-up with two friends.

Cherry said: “I’ve been wanting to create a podcast focusing on women’s health for a long time, but it’s just never felt quite right - and then an opportunity came up to work with Dr Amir, and it felt like the project I’ve been waiting for.

It’s designed for people who don’t get out much and can’t handle it when they do. It’s a refuge for the clumsy, and the awkward.

If you are socially adept and enjoy healthy relationships, there’s nothing for you here.

The suggestion is that you send him questions about whatever’s on your mind and he will attempt to answer them, without actually making things worse.

If you have questions about anything – from parking to how to hide at parties, please send us a voice note via Instagram.

This is really just an invitation to squander time, which Bill considers his superpower.

There will also be a recommended book and a ‘playlist of the week’ and given that he is making this up as he goes along, who knows what other features might develop.

On “Simpsons Declassified,” Cartwright – the iconic voice of Bart Simpson, Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders, Kearney Zzyzwicz, Database, and Maggie Simpson – and co-host Sofy Kurtz invite listeners behind-the-scenes of the world’s most iconic animated series, sharing untold stories, behind-the-scenes moments, and personal anecdotes, including the scenes that almost never aired, how Bart started mirroring Cartwright’s life, and the surprises that still get her.

Each episode will explore the show’s most jaw-dropping predictions and long-running conspiracies. It will feature “The Simpsons” guest stars, writers, directors, and famous fans who will reveal their favorite fan theories, hot takes, and secrets from inside Springfield and play “The Simpsons”-themed games. The guest lineup includes Allison Janney, “Weird Al" Yankovic, and “The Simpsons” showrunner, writer, and producer Mike Reiss, with more to come.

🎙️ The Official One Chicago Podcast premieres Thursday Sept. 18

Wolf Entertainment, USG Audio and NBC announced today that the new One Chicago Podcast will premiere on Thursday, Sept. 18. Brian Luce, a former Chicago police officer who now works on Chicago P.D. as a producer and technical consultant, is set to host the weekly series.

Listeners can subscribe to the 28-episode podcast now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all other podcast platforms.

The podcast will feature exclusive interviews with stars such as Jason Beghe (Chicago P.D.) and David Eigenberg (Chicago Fire) as well as with writers, showrunners, crew and more. Episodes launch weekly every Thursday, with two originals dropping on premiere night. Video versions of select episodes will be published on NBC’s One Chicago YouTube channel.

The One Chicago series returns to NBC on Wednesday, Oct. 1, kicking off with Chicago Med at 8/7c, followed by Chicago Fire at 9/8c and Chicago P.D. at 10/9c. Each series also airs next day on Peacock.

Luce will take listeners behind the scenes of Universal Television, Wolf Entertainment and NBC’s hit One Chicago brand featuring candid in-depth conversations with the cast and crew who are integral in bringing the shows to life. The official One Chicago Podcast will reveal exclusive perspectives and share personal stories, highlighting the tight-knit culture that has flourished on set in the Windy City where the shows are filmed.

A former Chicago police officer, Luce joined the crew of Chicago P.D. in the first season as a technical consultant and script consultant, eventually becoming a producer in 2017. He plays an instrumental role on the production team, shaping its commitment to realism by training actors and consulting on scripts. Prior to his work on Chicago P.D., he spent 27 years in law enforcement, including 18 years as an undercover officer with the Chicago Police Department.

NBC’s One Chicago has become television’s biggest event on Wednesday nights. The three-hour block of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. drew more than 50 million viewers last season, gaining a loyal fan base over the past decade.
